Chris Korfist started out as a Graduate Assistant at Northern Illinois University in the Strength and Conditioning Program.
He then went on to a suburban Chicago high school, Hinsdale Central, where he took over the strength and conditioning program. He also coached 9 All-State Football players. In the last 5 years, his teams have complied an overall record of 46-8. As a track coach, his sprint relays qualified for the state meet every year for the last 8 years. Their worst finish in the relays was 12. He has coached 9 all-state sprint relay teams with bests in the 4x100 of 41.8, 4x200 of 1:27.84 FAT and a 3:19.1 in the 4x400. He has since started Slow Guy Speed School and develops high school training programs for speed and strength as well as works with individuals in their quest for speed. His programs are different because they are not the traditional weightlifting regimens but protocols that develop that athletes nervous system using methods developed in the Soviet Union.
